The Lineup

To celebrate 10 years of the State of Play we have a special event planned for

May 10th 2019

In 2018 we had our usual mix of keynote, experienced and innovative game maker talks and ideas. 

The night included a series of short cut talks, reflective pieces from the Irish game developer industry as well as our keynotes

We are opening a call for interested speakers. If you think you have something useful and wise to pass on to other game makers please apply here. There will be a limited amount of space and will be based on demand and availability.

The EXPO

The 2018 demo floor was a huge success. Over 100 games on display. The buzz in the room was amazing. Once again we will be host an opportunity for developers, students, researchers, garage or aspiring game developers to showcase their work to their peers and the industry. We welcome all shapes and sizes! its FREE!

It doesn't end there, we will conclude with some gaming and craft beer revelry just across St-Stephens Green in Alfie Byrne's

on Earlsford terrace Dublin 2 (map)

The State of Play: Game Research Seminar

 

State of Play is glad to announce this year it will be holding a seminar on game- based learning on the 10th May 2019, 11-12a.m. in room 3-045. This seminar will provide a forum for interested parties in exchanging their methods, projects, best practice in the area of games.
 

Students, teachers, researchers, companies and hobbyists are encouraged to attend. It is an opportunity to present your work and get critical feedback along with networking opportunities with others in your field.
 

Digital and non-digital demos, prototypes and academic presentations at any stage of development are all welcome. If you have an interest in games and want to meet like-minded people, then this is a great event for you.

Study Game Design

The School of Media at TU Dublin hosts a 4 year Undergraduate Degree in Game Design and a 1 year full time Masters in Digital Games.
